About NG NET PLLC

NG NET PLLC is an Illinois-licensed professional land surveying design firm providing land surveying, reality capture, LiDAR scanning, drone mapping, GIS, and geospatial data services for residential, commercial, construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects.

Our work is guided by a straightforward principle:

Understand the project. Establish the right spatial foundation. Select the appropriate technology. Deliver reliable information the client can use.

We combine professional land surveying, geodesy and survey control, reality capture, UAS mapping, GIS, and CAD/geospatial production to support projects requiring accurate measurements, dependable spatial information, and practical deliverables.

Rather than treating these technologies as separate services, we integrate them into a coordinated workflow—from project planning and field measurements through data processing, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), analysis, and final deliverables.

George Petrov, PLS

Professionally licensed as Georgi Petrov

NG NET PLLC was founded and is led by George (Georgi) Petrov, PLS, a Professional Land Surveyor with more than 30 years of experience in land surveying, geodesy, GIS, construction surveying, and geospatial technologies.

George is licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois and Wisconsin and holds an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate. His educational background includes a master’s-equivalent degree in Geodesy, Cartography, and Photogrammetry.

Transportation, Infrastructure, and Building Projects

Throughout his career, George has contributed to surveying and geospatial projects involving transportation infrastructure, aviation facilities, rail and transit systems, industrial facilities, commercial properties, and complex building environments.

His professional experience includes work associated with O’Hare International Airport, the Illinois Tollway I-490 corridor, and CTA and Metra facilities, among other transportation, infrastructure, and construction projects.

George has completed more than 300 terrestrial laser-scanning projects, managing the technical workflow from project planning and survey control through field data acquisition, point-cloud registration, georeferencing, processing, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), and feature extraction. Depending on project requirements, the processed point clouds and extracted features were delivered directly to clients or provided to CAD production teams for preparation of final drawings and other project deliverables.

This combination of professional surveying experience and modern geospatial technology provides the technical foundation for NG NET PLLC’s services.

George’s professional background extends beyond conventional land surveying into geodesy, satellite positioning, geodetic reference networks, geographic information systems (GIS), and geospatial data processing.

Earlier in his career, he worked with the Military Geoinformation Service of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense, where he served as chief of a section within the GIS Section. His responsibilities included geodetic and GIS applications, permanent GNSS infrastructure, coordinate reference systems, and geospatial data processing.

His experience included contributing to the development of Bulgaria’s National GPS Network, working with the permanent SOFI GPS reference station, which participated in international geodetic networks, and performing GPS observation processing and analysis. He also contributed to geospatial project development and software applications involving coordinate transformations and GPS data processing.

This foundation continues to influence his professional approach today, particularly in GNSS positioning, georeferencing, coordinate-system management, spatial-data integration, GIS mapping, visualization, and quality assurance.

The integration of geodesy, professional surveying, GIS, and modern measurement technologies provides NG NET PLLC with a technical foundation for projects requiring consistent spatial reference, reliable measurements, and coordinated geospatial deliverables.

Technology changes. The responsibility for understanding the measurements, verifying the data, and delivering reliable information does not.

Reliable Geospatial Information Begins with Professional Judgment

Modern surveying and geospatial technologies can collect enormous amounts of spatial information. However, the value of that information depends on more than the precision of the instruments used.

It requires understanding how the measurements were obtained, the reference framework in which they are expressed, their accuracy and limitations, and whether the resulting information is appropriate for its intended use.

At NG NET PLLC, we combine professional surveying judgment with modern measurement and geospatial technologies to develop solutions tailored to each project’s requirements.

Our approach emphasizes selecting appropriate methods, establishing reliable spatial control, verifying observations and processed data, and preparing deliverables that support the client’s project objectives.

Professional Responsibility & Quality Assurance

Professional land surveying services are performed under the responsible charge of a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.

Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) are integrated throughout the project workflow—from planning and field measurements to data processing, verification, documentation, and final deliverables.

Particular attention is given to survey control, coordinate reference systems, measurement accuracy, data consistency, and the intended use of the information.

Our objective is not simply to collect spatial data, but to deliver reliable, clearly documented information that clients can confidently incorporate into their projects.

Professional land surveying, reality capture, UAS mapping, GIS, and CAD production are closely connected disciplines. When coordinated properly, they can provide a consistent spatial foundation for project planning, design, construction, documentation, and analysis.

At NG NET PLLC, we approach geospatial services as parts of a connected workflow, selecting and combining technologies according to each project’s requirements.

Our Integrated Capabilities

  • Survey Control & Field Measurements: Establishing project control and collecting field measurements using GNSS, total stations, and other appropriate surveying methods.
  • Reality Capture & Aerial Mapping: Collecting and processing terrestrial laser-scanning, LiDAR, photogrammetric, and UAS data to document existing conditions.
  • Geospatial Data Processing: Registering, georeferencing, validating, and processing field-collected or client-provided point clouds, imagery, and other spatial datasets.
  • GIS & Spatial Data Integration: Managing coordinate reference systems, converting and integrating datasets, developing GIS information, and supporting mapping, visualization, and spatial analysis.
  • CAD & Geospatial Production: Extracting features, preparing CAD drawings, and developing project-specific geospatial deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance & Verification: Evaluating data consistency, spatial relationships, measurement accuracy, and compliance with applicable project requirements.

Connecting Data Across the Project Workflow

Our integrated approach helps maintain consistency between field measurements, survey control, processed spatial datasets, CAD drawings, GIS information, and final deliverables.

By considering the relationships between these components throughout the project, we aim to reduce data inconsistencies, identify potential problems earlier, and provide information that can be effectively incorporated into the client’s existing workflows.

Every project has different requirements, and not every project needs the same technology.

A conventional land survey may be the most appropriate solution for one project, while another may benefit from terrestrial LiDAR, UAS photogrammetry, GIS, or a combination of measurement and geospatial technologies.

NG NET PLLC begins by understanding the project objectives, accuracy requirements, coordinate reference system, intended use, and expected deliverables. These considerations guide the selection of appropriate methods for data collection, processing, verification, and delivery.

Project-Specific Deliverables

Depending on the project scope, deliverables may include:

  • Professional Survey Documents: Survey plats, exhibits, legal descriptions, and survey or construction-control information.
  • CAD & Geospatial Drawings: CAD drawings, digital linework, extracted features, and existing-condition or as-built documentation.
  • Point Clouds & Reality Capture: Registered, georeferenced, and colorized point clouds in RCP, E57, LAS/LAZ, POD, and other applicable formats.
  • Aerial Mapping & Surface Data: Orthophotos, photogrammetric mapping products, terrain models, surface data, and earthwork volume calculations.
  • GIS & Spatial Data: GIS-ready datasets, geospatial maps, spatial analysis results, and project-specific data conversions.
  • Visualization & Digital Access: Point-cloud viewers, geospatial exhibits, and visualization datasets for project coordination and review.

NG NET PLLC can work with both field-collected data and information provided by clients, helping transform measurements and spatial datasets into practical project deliverables.

Our objective is not simply to collect more data.

It is to provide the right information, at the appropriate level of accuracy, in the coordinate reference framework and format required for the client’s intended use.
